Provides education and support services to students online. Services aim to help students acquire an Illinois high school diploma, formerly known as a high school equivalency certificate, and acquire English language skills for English language learners by offering language acquisition (ELA) classes. Will also help students with the transition into college or a career pathway by offering career readiness curriculum in HSE and ELA classes and assistance transitioning into on-the-job training, college, and careers.

Provides basic instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English for non-English speakers as a first language. Course content covers structure, pronunciation, vocabulary development, reading, and writing skills. Objective of the course is to develop an understanding of the language with a significant portion of class time devoted to hearing and discussion exercises. An oral assessment and/or standardized placement test will determine placement. Books are provided to students at no cost.

Offers classes to women wishing to learn to read, write, and speak English.
Students are individually tested and receive materials targeted to their goals and learning level. Students come for tutoring for 1 ½ hours a week, and may also participate in twice-weekly conversation classes.
All classes and tutoring are in English.
Women may also check out bilingual books to read to their children. Some training materials (documents and videos) are available on website.

Literacy Volunteers helps adults read, write, speak, and understand English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors one to one. Each tutor and student meet for one hour a week at a public location that is convenient for them, such as public libraries. Students can also meet with tutors virtually.
The program is open entry, open exit; adults can enroll at any time and exit at any time.
