Provides comprehensive PreK-12 curriculum and opportunities for lifelong learning. Programs for talented and gifted students, grades PreK-12 and for handicapped, ages 3 1/2 through 21. Extensive activity program, intramural and interscholastic athletics. The District administers the Walnut Creek Campus, an alternative high school for students who have dropped out, are frequently absent, are earning failing grades, or who are otherwise deemed appropriate for the alternative school's special programs.

Oakton College offers a wide range of intellectually engaging college courses for older adults.
Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program trains and supports mental health professionals through SAMHSA-approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and specialty workshops.

The Port Ministries offers The People's School program. The program consists of free workshops led by volunteers from the community. Workshops vary in subject matter, interest, need, and audience. They focus on producing tangible outcomes and develop positive relationships via a shared interest.

Topics covered include (but not limited to) art, automotive care, computers, finance and investment, home and garden, languages, music and writing. In Anixter Center's Lifelong Learning program, members create their own calendars each month, so they are guaranteed to enjoy what they're doing. Using a personalized approach, they design services that are best for you. They have locations in Ravenswood, Rogers Park, and Highland Park.

Offers a Graduate Psychotherapy Training program for students completing graduate level programs in mental health related fields who are seeking an intensive psychotherapy training experience. This is a one-to-two year clinical experience. Schedules and hours are determined subject to the needs of each student's academic program, personal needs and Center needs and resources.
Northeast Iowa Community College provides year-round, day and evening, credit and continuing education classes; also supports training opportunities for local businesses. Class instruction is offered face-to-face as well as over the ICN (Iowa Communication Network). Cresco Center includes a computer lab, three classrooms, a health lab, ICN room, multi-purpose shop lab/classroom, commons area, conference room, and welding lab. The Center offers a variety of services to Cresco and the surrounding communities including course registration (for any of the NICC sites and campuses), placement testing, intake advising, administration of Distance Learning Exams, specialized business training, and continuing education classes.
Northeast Iowa Community College provides year-round, day and evening, credit, recertification, and continuing education classes; also supports training opportunities for local businesses. Class instruction is offered face-to-face as well as over the ICN (Iowa Communication Network). Oelwein Center is housed at Iowa's first Regional Academy for Math and Science (RAMS) center and includes three traditional classrooms, two science labs, one fully-networked computer lab, one Project Lead the Way lab, an ICN (Iowa Communication Network) room, office and conference space, and commons area. The Center offers a variety of services to Oelwein and the surrounding communities including admissions information, placement testing, program information, intake advising, course registration, financial aid information, administration of distance learning exams, continuation education courses, specialized business training, and HSED classes.

ESL or English as a Second Language is a program for people who speak, read and write best in a language other than English and desire to improve their use of the English language. Entry-level English through college-prep English is available.

HiSET and High School Completion Center (testing and prep).

Adult Literacy program provides opportunities for adults in need of literacy skills and refresher basics in reading, writing and math. Adult Literacy classes are offered at various locations in and around Des Moines and in cooperation with local schools and organizations.

COLLEGE (core) classes for DMACC's associate degree programs and non credit classes for personal and professional development.
