Program provides a natural resource problem solving and management process. The process integrates economic, social and ecological considerations to meet private and public needs. The approach helps improve natural resource management, minimize conflict and address problems and opportunities. Landscape planning is based on a desired future condition that is developed by the client for an individual conservation plan, or by the client and stakeholders, in the case of an areawide conservation plan or assessment encompassing a watershed or other defined area.
Offers easement programs to landowners who want to maintain or enhance their land in a way beneficial to agriculture and/or the environment. All NRCS easement programs are voluntary. Easement programs cover agricultural land, forests, grasslands, wetlands, farm and ranch lands.
Administers programs and services related to natural resource management, and offers environmental education for school groups and the general public.
