Offers a free service to all new mothers in Hardin County to help all new mothers with any questions they might have once they bring their baby home. Services include free in home visits from a Greenbelt Home Care Maternal Health Nurse, nurse assessment of the health of the mother and baby, information on programs that provide financial assistance, lead screenings, and immunizations. Can also offer resources and referrals in the Hardin County area, and around the state of Iowa.

Maternal health services are available to expectant women in the state of Iowa. A coordinator connects clients to:
-- Payment assistance for child birth and/or parenting classes
-- Health screenings and referrals to help moms and babies be as healthy as they can be
-- Oral health screenings, fluoride varnish applications and dental referrals
-- Referrals to other health care or local community services
-- Presumptive eligibility, assistance with applying for Medicaid
-- Help in arranging for your delivery
-- Social assessment and referrals
-- Referrals for family planning and child health care
-- Care Coordination services, including transportation and translation assistance

Screening and treatment for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cholesterol, and depression.

Routine services such as pap smears, school physicals, prenatal visits, well baby exams, physicals and other routine healthcare procedures. Follow-up visits for patients with diabetes, elevated blood lead levels, hypertension, behavioral health concerns and other on-going health problems are also routine activities at the clinic.

Health education integrated into each patient's visit. Nutrition, disease prevention and management are taught to patients individually and in groups. Educational follow-up, care coordination, management and peer education, including care for sexually transmitted diseases, latent tuberculosis, high lead levels, prenatal care and care for chronic diseases (asthma, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and depression).

Specialist referrals for services not available at the clinic are made for all patients. Appointments for patients without insurance and/or limited income are made through Hope Medical Outreach Coalition volunteer physicians and facilities.

Offers support new and expecting parents. A specially trained Registered Nurse visits and supports parents through their pregnancy and until the baby's second birthday.

Your nurse will help you learn what to expect during your pregnancy and labor and about your baby's growth and development. The nurse will give up-to-date information on immunizations and nutrition along with information about community resources and services to help you and your baby.

Parents as Teachers services Marion and Jasper County - a home visiting program providing developmental screening, resource education and parental supports.
