Assistive Technology Equipment Loan
- Advocates for the civil rights of individuals with disabilities. - Coordinates public disability awareness activities including presentations to community groups. - Assists individuals with hearing and speech disabilities access communication needs. - Assists with independent living skills training (money management, assertiveness training, self-advocacy, etc.). - Provides information and referral services. - Provides peer mentoring for individual and group settings. - Provides transition services such as moving qualified individuals from nursing facilities or other institutions to independent living. - Assists youth with disabilities transition from high school to adult life. - Provides personal assistant services. - Operates a Community Advocacy Training program for youth and adults. - Assists individuals with vision loss or blindness acquire assistive devices and skills training. - Operates a medical equipment loan program. - Provides mentoring for parents of youth with disabilities. - Operates an ITAC amplified phone selection center.

Assistive Equipment: Devices or equipment either purchased or rented to increase an individual's independence and capability to perform household and personal care tasks at home.

Services include Residential Lift Equipment, Walking Aids, Wheelchairs/Wheeled Mobility, Assistive Technology Equipment Loan, Medical Equipment/Supplies, Hospital Bed Donation Programs, Medical Supplies Donation Program, Walking Aid Donation Programs, and Wheelchair Donation Programs. Short term (6 weeks) assistive device loan program.

Assistive Technology may include, but not exclusively, temporarily loans equipment to individuals who require it for daily living.
Provides temporary loans for assistive equipment to individuals who require it for daily living.
Missouri Assistive Technology operates the Equipment Technology Consortium (ETC) which is a short-term assistive technology equipment loan program for school districts and agencies in Missouri. Districts or agencies can borrow equipment on behalf of individuals with disabilities to try out the equipment before purchasing, for use during the time equipment is in repair, or for other short-term needs. Districts or agencies can borrow equipment for up to six weeks. The program includes a wide range of equipment including switches and mounts, computer access devices, environmental controls, hearing devices, home modifications, visual aids and augmentative communication devices. Product demonstrations are given for proper use of equipment.

Distributes home medical equipment, devices include, but are not limited to, shower chairs, grab bars, toilet seats, portable commodes, seating cushions, back supports and positioning devices, dressing aids, and stair lifts. Does not offer medications, orthopedic braces, tubing and masks for CPAPs and BiPaps.
Therapeutic toys and equipment are loaned to families free of charge for as long as it it needed. There are over 1,500 pieces of therapy equipment available. Families are encouraged to consult with therapist for equipment recommendations in the following areas: gross and fine motor; speech and language development; sensory integration; ability switches and adapted toys; visual and auditory processing; cognitive development and problem solving; position and mobility.
