Adult Day Programs

Helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by enabling them to successfully live, learn, work, and socialize in the community. Its programs are attuned to the unique potential of each individual and designed to build self-confidence and independence. Support services are provided through one or more of the following programs:

- 24-hour residential support.

- Developmental training.

- Supported living.

- Supported employment.

- Competitive employment.

- Janitorial training.

Group Residences for Adults With Disabilities

Offers community day services for individuals with developmental disabilities and visual impairments. Services include adult day services, pre-vocational services, work readiness training and the senior program.

Developmental Disabilities Day Habilitation Programs
Clearbrook provides occupational, physical, and speech therapy from licensed practitioners and assistants to aid in the treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities. Participants receive routine evaluations as well as ongoing individual therapy in private and group sessions which are integrated into the clients' day program environments. For individuals who have incidences of behavior problems, Clearbrook will work with them to positively enhance their relationship with other people and their surrounding environment.

Provides assistance for individuals with developmental disabilities. Services offer help with decision making, managing health issues, and supporting healthy living. Activities include educational instruction, daily living skills practice, and vocational support. Vocational training supports developing job skills, positive work habits, and allows access to work in a supervised environment.

Offers a range of programs and services to people with disabilities, including social clubs and events, skill-based programs, seasonal camps, cultural arts, special events, sports teams, sensory room experiences, competition at Special Olympics and more, also offers an adult day program.

Adult Day Programs

Provides help to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to focus on building personal skills through active treatment. The program assists clients to achieve their personal goals and desires through education, pre-vocational training, assistance with personal care, and community integration.

Works to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve greater independence, personal choice, self-awareness, and wellness opportunities.

Provides opportunities for community inclusion by delivering Peace Meals to area seniors, going to the library, swimming, camping, fishing, voluntary community service, and shopping locally. These events encourage people to make their own choices while providing employment and regular working hours for persons who qualify, for commensurate pay.

Teaching a variety of skills based upon each individual's capabilities, increased responsibility for independent living, upgrading basic academic skills, improving social skills and improving individual self-esteem

Helps adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities develop and enhance daily adaptive living skills and economic self-sufficiency through out-of-home training designed to foster appropriate behavior, greater independence, and personal choice.

Independent Living Skills Instruction

DS services include a Mon-Fri Community Day Service Program, Community Support Services (including CILA and Respite), and Supported Employment Services. Supports provided by staff are based upon each individual's needs, preferences, and strengths.

Also provides a Children's Home Based program for individuals from birth to age 18 with a Developmental Disability. Services included are behavior intervention and treatment, service facilitation, and personal support.

South Chicago Parents & Friends provides Community Day Services and Supported Employment programming for adults with disabilities. Employment instills a tremendous amount of pride, independence, responsibility, and self-worth. Having proper vocational and behavioral skills is the place to start.
Opportunity Knocks offers a wide variety of activities that are developed in collaboration with the participants. Program activities are embedded with a focus on peer leadership, health and wellness, social interaction and community connections.
