Second Sense provides orientation and mobility training one-on-one at our office, in your home, throughout your community and other locations you wish to travel to independently. This program helps teach individuals how to get where they want to go - safely and independently and teaches individuals how to maneuver with a cane.
The Chicago Lighthouse helps clients who are blind or visually impaired develop skills and techniques for safe, effective, and efficient travel. Specialists work one-on-one with clients to make sense of their surroundings by enhancing environmental, bodily and spatial awareness. Clients also learn techniques to utilize remaining vision in conjunction with auditory, olfactory, and kinesthetic senses to experience the world more in a more meaningful way.
