General Youth Employment Programs
The 40-week Bilingual Medical Assistant program (BMA) prepares graduates to work in medical assistant positions. It will provide training in anatomy and physiology, medical law and ethics, clinical skills, pharmacology, microcomputer applications, medical office procedures, CPR, and First Aid.
Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) offers programs for adults with visual impairments to enable them to work and participate fully in family and community life. Services include vocational rehabilitation and the Business Enterprise Program for the Blind (BEPB) which offers management opportunities in the food service industry to individuals who are legally blind after completing a six-month training course.

Initial and refresher trainings required for school bus drivers are conducted regularly throughout the year through the ROE. New bus drivers need to take an 8-hour course. Bus drivers are required to take a 2-hour refresher course each year.

Assistance for eligible persons interested in obtaining a CDL license or CNA certification including tuition, books, and testing. Some allowable courses are available and subject to approval based on length of the course and date the course completes.
Provides online and hands on instructional training for individuals wanting to pursue career path opportunities in the construction field.
Employment advisors are on-site to help the person to learn their new job tasks in the work environment through training, incorporating compensatory strategies and developing natural supports at the job. Agency works closely with each employer’s management team to help make sure the business remains productive during the training process.
Provides training in construction work to eligible youths.
Teaches participants pre-apprenticeship carpentry alongside journeyman carpenters to hone their skills by working on an actual worksite which is a home sold or rented to a low-income individual or family.

Two types of Bus Driver courses: - 8-hour initial training is required for all new school bus drivers prior to getting a bus permit. - 2-hour refresher workshop is required in the 12 month period prior to renew a school bus permit.

National Latino Education Institute provides hands-on culinary training including job placement support and support services.
The purpose of this program is to provide services that are critical to consumers who rely on personal assistants (PA's) to do the chores that they are unable to do for themselves, in order to maintain their community living status. The PA staff will also assist consumers who have been unjustly denied home services or have experienced cuts in their home services program.
