Pet vaccinations, preventive care, and minor medical services.
Meals on Wheels Northeastern Illinois delivers meals to older adults, individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, Veterans, and others unable to prepare their own food. They provide short-term services to help during a medical situation like recovering after surgery, or long-term services to support a healthy life.They also provide free dog and cat food on a monthly basis to more than 450 pets owned by clients. Pets get the food they need and clients, many of whom are socially isolated, benefit from interaction with pet-loving volunteers. Additionally, cat litter, new or gently used collars, leashes, bedding, toys, scratching posts, etc. may also be available while supplies last.
Provides a safe and humane place for the care of homeless, unwanted, lost, injured and many other animals, while owners are sought.

Educational programs.
The Friendship Centers provides dog and cat food in addition to kitty litter, treats, and when available, leashes, bowls, and new or gently used toys. They can also assist in locating low-cost veterinary services.
South Suburban Humane Society provides affordable spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats 4 days a week! All pet parents are eligible to utilize the clinic but special pricing may apply for those who qualify.
Evanston Animal Shelter provides pet food to Evanston-area residents who are in need of assistance with providing food to their furry family members.
No-kill shelter which provides temporary shelter, food, medical attention, and comfort to displaced and neglected companion animals.

All volunteer animal rescue organization. Obtains medical care and shelter for stray and abandoned cats and dogs until they are adopted by utilizing a wide network of volunteer animal foster homes.

Animals available for adoption are listed on the website, with some cats available at the local PetSmart.

Orland Township Crashy's Closet aims to provide food and supplies for pets whose families are experiencing financial difficulty. Patrons may receive dog and cat food, kitty litter, pet treats, pet shampoo, toys, collars, leashes, and other miscellaneous pet-related items while supplies last.

Offers a number of low-cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinics throughout the year that offer rabies and distemper vaccines along with microchips and a basic wellness exam. Visit the website for upcoming clinics.

The Spay / Neuter Assistance Program provides low cost spay / neuter services for cats whose owners are low-income or college students.

Provides assistance for stray cats and dogs, barking dogs, biting incidents, and the capture of domestic or wild animals posing a health or safety threat.

Temporary shelter and care to dogs and cats.
Provides affordable spay/neuter services for cats and dogs, subject to availability.
Pet Assistance & Wellness Program (PAW) provides financial assistance for individuals being treated for cancer to care for their cat or dog.
Educates dog owners on pet care and dog training.
Offers low-cost vaccines for pets. Individuals receiving LINK (Food Stamps) or SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) as well as veterans may qualify for special reduced pricing.
PAWS Chicago connects pet owners suffering from a financial, health, domestic, or other crisis and in need of a temporary home for their dog or cat with a foster family in the area to care for and protect the pet until they can reunite. While not guaranteed that all animals will be accepted into the program, they will make every effort to find a qualified temporary foster family in the area.
Seeks to assist all animals in need through a variety of programs including: adoptions, spay and neuter, community outreach, and humane education.

Offers affordable spay and neuter services for cats, dogs, and rabbits. Our Love for Pets program provides individuals in under-served neighborhoods with resources to keep their pets, safe, healthy, and in their homes. Our ITRAP program assists individuals and municipalities with trap/neuter/return resources and policies to humanely manage community cat populations.
