Empowers low income individuals and families in need with the ingredients to cook a Thanksgiving meal in their own home rather than eating at the Open Door Mission on Thanksgiving Day. This also includes extra groceries to help during the Holiday season when school is out. There will be only 1 Turkey 'N Fixins program per address.

For Thanksgiving 2024:

Beginning November 1st, community members can come to the Timberlake Outreach Center or the Council Bluffs Outreach Center (on the days they are open) and receive a turkey or a ham, along with some other traditional Thanksgiving specific foods as a part of their once a month shopping time. (Only one turkey or one ham per address.)

Program through Nov 27th. Individuals/families can receive Turkey N Fixin's Wednesday-Saturday at the Timberlake Outreach Center, and on Tuesdays only at the Council Bluffs Outreach Center. Individuals/families will need to have a current piece of mail with them when visiting either Outreach Center.

Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets are distributed, as well as an Adopt a Family program.

2025 Signups will be available on the website October 11 through November 1, 2025.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes for low-income households in Richardson County who need extra help with groceries.

For Thanksgiving 2024, no documentation is required except proof of Richardson County residency. 1 pantry per household.

Sign-up starts Oct 28, 2024; supplies are limited. To request a pantry and schedule a pickup time, call (402) 245-5284. Pickup is at the Falls City location (Richardson County Courthouse, Room 101) on Wed, Nov 20, from 8:30 am-11:30 am, and Thu, Nov 21, from 1 pm-4 pm.

For Christmas 2024, Holiday Gift applications can be picked up at the SENCA office in Falls City or Humboldt, starting Oct 26, 2024.

No applications will be accepted after Nov 15 at 4 pm.

SENCA is only providing food baskets for those clients requesting them. There are no eligibility requirements to receive a food basket from SENCA.

Application must be completed in-person during Food Pantry hours: Monday & Friday 9 am-12 pm. Families may select either Thanksgiving OR Christmas while supplies last. Please one ONE basket per family per year.

Offers a free meal delivered to older adults, 60 years of age or older (homebound, lonely, or alone) on Thanksgiving Day. Meal consists of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll, banana, and cookies.

2024 reservations accepted until November 21st. Callers must speak with someone to make a reservation; no voice messages will be accepted. Phone lines are open on weekdays from 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-4 pm.

Meal deliver occurs on Thu morning, Nov 28. Applicant must be home to receive the meal, no meals will be left at the door. Volunteers prepare and deliver the meals following local regulations and CDC guidelines. Specific delivery times cannot be scheduled. Cannot feed families.

During the month preceeding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, families can receive a turkey (Thanksgiving/Christmas) or turkey or ham (Christmas/Easter). One such item per family per holiday (exceptions might be made for large families).
