OMNI's Family Resource Program primarily serves the communities of Prospect Heights and Wheeling. Although the program provides services that address basic immediate needs, the focus is to promote self-sufficiency and increase participation in the community.

Parenting Skills Classes
Bloom Township offers the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) class where parents learn to effectively understand children's behavior, improve communication, and set limits along with consequences. The 6-session program has provided service to Probation and DCFS-referred clients as well as those who are self-referred. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Hours may be changed to adapt to the client's work schedule.
Offers short-term counseling for families and young adults of Warren Township. Focuses on parent and family involvement. Offers in-person and virtual sessions. Other counseling services are open to non-residents, including: - Parent education - Therapy groups - Professional continuing education - Experiential therapies (such as Equestrian Therapy) Township boundaries do not follow municipal or zip code boundaries. Provides counseling programs to youth and adults who are involved in the child welfare system. Counseling services provided to youth who have been sexually and/or physically abused, or who are survivors of domestic violence. Counseling services also provide to the non-offending parents. Centro de Información provides parenting classes in both English and Spanish. These courses are made up of nine, two-hour classes which meet once a week over a nine-week period. Throughout the course, parents have opportunities to seek advice, share concerns, and relate to other parents. Attendees will receive small assignments to do at home and will be required to pass a final exam in order to complete the course.If parents have been referred by the Department of Children and Families Services (DCFS), the instructor will make up to four home visits during the nine weeks of the course. If parents have been referred by the court or a private agency, the cost will be based on the agency and court requirements.

Mujeres Latinas en Acción offers parenting education sessions in Spanish to improve interpersonal relationships in families. We also offer individual and group counseling for parents and operate the only free Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange services for low-income families in Chicagoland.

Sankofa Safe Child Initiative - Southside Office offers parenting classes for first-time parents and/or parents who are encountering difficulties at home. Some topics covered include personal reflections, health, and wellness, child growth and development, literacy, rights when it comes to daycare and schools including how individuals can do a site visit, what questions should be asked, as well as communicating with teachers and principals.
The Theraplay Clinic provides parents with access to trained individuals who may help improve parenting skills either in a one-on-one or group-based environment. This group meets on the third Thursday of every month.

El Valor and Head Start believe in the two-generation approach support the whole family to have a bright future of lifelong learning. With this in mind, El Valor offers parents avariety of enrichment opportunitiesincluding certification classes, first aid, parenting seminars, and family support groups. Polish American Association's (PAA) parenting classes are designed for parents to increase their knowledge of child development and enhance skills to discipline, communicate, reduce stress, and improve self-care. The program offers a variety of activities, including lectures, video materials, handouts, quizzes, group discussions, in-class exercises, and homework assignments. Services are offered through individual and group sessions.
FCO educates parents on strategies that can actively support their children's educational and personal development. Adult Education has always been one of Frida's main focuses. By offering adult education, we hope to empower our community so that it may keep progressing. We have various sites throughout the city that offer ESL, Computer literacy, and STEAM classes for adults in the community and no cost.
Parent University is a community collaborative that supports families. This initiative encourages parent involvement and participation in the education of our community's children and youth. They have offered IEP classes, health classes, financial literacy, Zumba classes, vendors/resource tables, free food, coat and toy giveaways, etc.
