Hiking Trails
Provides an education center and hiking trails.
Offers trails for the public use in various locations around the Polk County area. Some trails are paved offering the opportunity for hiking, biking, skating and rollerblading, while some trails only offer hiking (due to sensitivity to erosion, unpaved trails may have restrictions such as no biking or horseback riding). The Parks and Recreation Department maintains a variety of recreational lands and facilities for the City of Decorah including: City parks and shelters, Pulpit Rock campground and camp cabins, The Community Prairie and Butterfly Garden, Hiking and ski trails, Bike trails, Tennis courts, Softball fields, Outdoor skating rink, Outdoor basket ball courts, and Sand volleyball courts.

Waukon City Park offers horseshoe courts; outdoor swimming pool; sand volleyball courts; 4 large and 5 small shelters with grills, additional grills located throughout the park; three small playgrounds and 1 large playground (Hideaway Park); campground with facilities; hikers trail; and fishing pond. Depending on the weather, an ice skating rink will be open is located at the park for use.

The Osborne Nature Center offers the following: Exercise and nature trails, Native wildlife exhibit, Fishing, Arboretum, Pioneer village, Flower gardens, Archery courses, and Disc golf. In addition the Center houses an Iowa Welcome Center with rooms for education and events and also sales of Iowa products and natural resource related products.
