Art therapy is all about using the creative process of making art to boost your emotional well-being and self-expression, offering a unique path to personal growth. With the guidance of Black Alphabet's art therapists, participants get to explore their thoughts and feelings through various art materials.Black Alphabet offers both adult and youth versions of group art therapy.

Through Project IMPACT, SkyART participants and children from partner organizations participate in one-on-one or small group sessions with licensed Art Therapists. Art Therapists work collaboratively with youth in both virtual and in-person sessions to begin the long process of healing. These therapists can provide additional support or make referrals to other mental health professionals as needed.
Indo-American Center provides an Art Therapy program which encourages individuals to achieve self expression and emotional release by communicating emotions graphically through painting, drawing and other art forms.
Art-based psychotherapy services.

Offers art classes and workshops as a creative outlet to promote healing and wellness for veterans, military members, their caregivers, families and others. Classes/workshops are held every month with different mediums of art being taught throughout the year.

A free program for those living with Parkinson's Disease in South Omaha, available in the Fall of 2024 and Spring of 2025.


Classes are offered throughout the grant period. The series is centered around the focus areas of music and art therapy, exercise and wellness through dance, and mental health.

The Hope Center Foundation's Youth Trauma Arts Camp aims to break the generational cycle of violence and poverty in the Roseland, Pullman, and West Pullman areas by establishing programs that integrate art as a vehicle of healing. The focus for the youth is to develop intentional relationships that will increase their emotional intelligence, bond them over shared experiences, and build their confidence in overcoming challenges due to trauma.
Offers case management and counseling services for adults and children ages three years and older. Includes the following: - Individual, family, couple. and group therapy - Grief therapy - Suicide loss support group (Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide, LOSS) - Child abuse and neglect therapy - Adoptive family therapy - Substance use counseling for individuals and pregnant/postpartum women - HIV/Aids counseling - Sexual behavior counseling - Play, art, and dance movement therapy
The Cancer Support Center offers free services to any person impacted by cancer including counseling & art therapy, support groups, and fun/supportive special events.

Creative Therapies complement traditional talk therapy since many youths find it easier to express their trauma in a way that engages more than just speech. This allows youth in DCFS care to tap into their creative sides while clinical therapists provide individualized treatment, allowing the youth to explore their feelings, manage behaviors, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago provides a Wellness Through Creativity Group to explore using various mediums like art, music and poetry to connect with themselves and others. All wellness classes are free, safe, and confidential places to talk things through with others who understand, and are led by people who have had similar experiences too.
Offers an all faiths open MIC talent show, where songs, poetry, open mic, dance and other artistic expressions are encouraged for the youths, and the young at heart.

The Community Healing Resource Center provides holistic healing services and trauma-informed care to people impacted by gun violence and other forms of violence, directly or indirectly. Their model not only serves victims of violent crimes and their families but the entire community as well. They know that everyone who resides in the community is impacted by the trauma of violence.

Provides therapy through expressive arts group therapy. Themes are sent out in advance and include a wide variety of activities, such as: - Painting - Improv - Flower Pot Memorials - Song-Writing - Zen Gardens - Yoga
Support groups for grieving children and family members of all ages. Members engage in a range of activities to remember loved ones, develop coping skills, and share stories. Activities include: - Painting. - Improvization. - Flower pot memorials. - Song-writing. - Zen gardens. - Yoga. At this point in the pandemic these are virtual activities.
Art therapy for veterans, individuals with disabilities, and individuals in residential or assisted living facilities. Provides art projects as a form of recreational therapy.
The Josselyn Center offers support groups that aim to create an inclusive, diverse, compassionate, and welcoming space for individuals across the community to connect, build skills, and learn from others with similar experiences. Groups are offered in areas such as grief and loss, art therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), family groups, ADHD, LGBTQIA+, and more.

Located at Mainframe Studios in Des Moines, IA, the Momentum Art Program promotes hope and resilience through art by offering free access to art supplies, studio space, mentorship and training workshops, promotion, gallery exhibition, collaboration opportunities and community.
Artists First for Veterans: Provides a studio fully stocked with professional art supplies, facilitated by trained artists, where veterans can choose what they want to express and create. The program supports the development of positive self-identity, self-expression and community reintegration through the arts.
Arts and Wellness: Facilities workshops with artists helping children and parents learn about arts while learning how to communicate and express emotions using positive strategies.
