QUEST is a 12-week group designed to provide LGBTQ-identified adolescents and young adults with therapeutic support through education, counseling, and art therapy. The group assists youth in their process of self-development through identity exploration, coping and communication skills, development of healthy support systems, and goal setting and achievement. Group sessions are 60-90 minutes in duration.
Creative Therapies complement traditional talk therapy since many youths find it easier to express their trauma in a way that engages more than just speech. This allows youth in DCFS care to tap into their creative sides while clinical therapists provide individualized treatment, allowing the youth to explore their feelings, manage behaviors, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.
