City of Evanston offers a seasonal program that provides families in need with toys, books, and food items around the holidays.
- Reading for Life: Provides literacy workshops and distributes reading materials. Partners with Silver Cross to provide reading rooms and lending libraries. Materials focus on early childhood literacy, but options exist for all ages. - Writing Lab: Lab for improving computer literacy as well as essay and general writing skills. - Workshops: Community workshops for things like leadership development, financial literacy, and health/wellness.

An Urbana Champaign project providing books to Illinois inmates at no cost by mail as well as through two county jail libraries operated by the project. Volunteers primarily interact with inmates by reading their letters, selecting books from a collection of donated materials, and shipping those books directly to inmates in response to their requests.

A program working with the Dolly Parton Foundation to mail free books to children from birth to age 5 years. Each month, a new book is mailed in the child's name directly to their home.
Enrolled children receive one age-appropriate book each month in order to encourage excitement about reading before entering school. Once registered, children will begin receiving books in 6-9 weeks.
Provides free books to individuals of all ages.
Provides books to children (ages birth to 5) for free on a registration basis.
