YSS Supportive Housing programs help get young adults into safe, secure housing so they can focus on building a brighter future. These programs provide living options that center on participants achieving self-sufficiency. YSS advocates work one-on-one with the participants to create a plan to acquire safe and secure housing, stable employment, and financial stability.

Programs include:
Transitional Living Program (Ames, Boone, Marshalltown) - Single individuals ages 16-21
Rapid Rehousing (Ames, Boone, Des Moines, Marshalltown) - Single individuals ages 18-24
Lighthouse (Boone, Des Moines) - Families with parents ages 16-24
Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (Des Moines) - Single individuals or families ages 18-24 based on income

Tinley Park Park District's Pit Stop Teen Center is open to teens in grades 6 through 12. Teens can play pool, air hockey, foosball, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and much more. Movie night is held on the first and third Friday of the month. A recreation Center pass or daily admission is required. In addition, special programs designed for children ages 12 and up include trips, exercise classes, and special events.

The LYTE Lounge is open to young adults 16 to 30 years old (and their children) on Mondays 11am-5pm, Wednesdays 12pm-6pm, and Thursdays 11am-5pm. Walk-in visitors are welcome to participate in daily activities. We ask visitors requesting one-on-one support to reach out in advance and schedule an appointment with a youth advocate.
