- United Way of Southern Illinois's objective is to change the odds for children and families by focusing on the building blocks to self-sufficiency: education, financial stability, health, and basic needs. - Raising funds remains a key part of what United Way does, but the true measure of success is what is done with those funds, who is partnered with, and how effective the connections are with enriching the lives of those served.

The Survivor Repair Fund is fully sustained by the community, and 100% of donations go directly to survivors. This mutual aid fund has moved more than $60,000 directly to survivors since 2020 to help with necessary costs like emergency housing, groceries and medical costs, transportation, rent, and utilities.
Administers Federal grant programs such as: - Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). - Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA). - Continuum of Care (COC). - Provides grants for social service agency programs and facility improvements that are within HUD guidelines and the city of Bloomington. - Provides funds for the demolition of vacant, deteriorated structures within Bloomington. - Provides funds for rehabilitation on single family owner occupied, income eligible households located within the City of Bloomington Corporate Limits. - Provides funds for infrastructure improvements located in low / moderate income areas - such as streets, curb, gutters, sidewalks, water, and sewer services.

Immediate need funding requests may be submitted directly to the Executive Director or the Grant/Gifting Chair of the Hope Foundation of Jo Daviess County. Partners with health and human service non-profits. By uniting service organizations, individuals, businesses, and government, United Way of Eastern LaSalle County addresses the community's most pressing needs.
Community Mental Health Funding Alliance and the local mental health authority in the south Kane County area. INC is a unique partnership of seven township community mental health 708 boards. After passing a referendum for collection of a mental health tax, each township levies this tax upon recommendation of their 708 board. The levies are combined to maximize planning and funding for the residents in all seven townships for mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services.
- Assists individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowment and temporary funds, through gifts and bequests, within the confines of one large foundation. - Foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to students within the Fox River Valley, including the Greater Aurora Area and the Tri-Cities.

- Illinois Prairie Community Foundation (IPCF) encourages local philanthropy to meet local needs. - Foundation has more than 200 component funds for individuals, families, and non-profit organizations. - Funds include endowments, scholarships, agency and project funds, and donor advised funds. Foundation is working to build strong field of interest endowments in five areas: - Arts and culture. - Health and wellness. - Education. - Youth. - Environment. - Jewish education and life. Earnings from these endowments, other endowments and proceeds from the Annual Campaign are used for annual Community Foundation grants to local nonprofits. - IPCF's Women to Women Giving Circle provides annual grants to nonprofit organizations benefiting local women and children. The public is invited to spring and fall forums to learn about issues that affect local women. - Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) is a program designed to develop leadership and teamwork skills in high school students while they become familiar with the nonprofit sector. Each year, the group develops a grant application, promotes it, reviews applications and recommends grant awards. Applications to join the group are available on the website each fall. - Community Foundation works to strengthen local philanthropy by helping new nonprofits with fiscal management, providing an annual workshop for all nonprofits and by offering nonprofits opportunities to create their own agency endowments within the Community Foundation family. Individuals, families and local businesses may establish Donor Advised Funds at the Foundation to facilitate their charitable giving, and the Community Foundation works with financial professionals to facilitate legacy gifts from trusts and estates to benefit local communities. - IPCF makes it possible for everyone, regardless of wealth or status, to make a real and lasting impact in our community. - Provides a means for people to establish a fund to benefit any charitable purpose they wish or to make a gift to an existing fund, in any amount to provide lasting support for those causes that are important to them.
