Provides health professionals and other non-medical volunteers an organized mechanism through which they can volunteer their time and skills to strengthen their communities by preparing for and responding to emergencies and disasters, such as (but not limited to) influenza outbreak/spread, epidemic, chemical release, or act of terrorism.

Volunteers (medical and non-medical) who wish to help public health prepare and respond to emergency events in Rock Island County.

The Macon County Community Volunteer Corps is a group dedicated to emergency response to a public health emergency. The CVC is affiliated with the Macon County Health Department, and trains and exercises for mass vaccinations during a public health outbreak, assists with public health education, and partners with the Red Cross for shelter training. The CVC screens volunteer applicants, provides training at no cost. With its affiliation with Macon County Health Department, the CVC provides volunteer opportunities at local and state levels.

Mobilizes to assist communities around the world that have been impacted by disasters by providing leadership training, volunteer coordination, materials, supplies, and hands-on rebuilding.

Provides an online registration system for volunteer health professionals to list services during a disaster or emergency situation.
