Centers For New Horizons' Youth Development program is dedicated to empowering young individuals by providing them with the tools, guidance, and support they need to succeed. Program components include:EmPowerU: A career development and job placement initiative for youth aged 16-24, designed to provide hands-on job experience, life skills training, and career readiness support. Through personalized coaching, job placements, and community engagement, the program equips participants with the tools they need to achieve long-term success in the workforce.Mentoring & After School Supports: The mentoring program is designed to provide positive role models, guidance, and structured support for youth, helping them build essential life skills, confidence, and pathways to success. This program connects young people with caring mentors who offer encouragement, career exploration, academic support, and social-emotional development. Participants engage in at least 45 hours of structured group mentoring, fostering peer support, teamwork, and shared learning experiences.Community Youth Services: The purpose of the Community Youth Services (CYS) program is to develop, and implement, strategies, activities, and services that are intended to prevent delinquency and violence among Illinois youth who are 11 to 24 years of age. The CYS program focuses on community engagement, strategic planning, services and referral.Summer Enrichment: A summer workforce development initiative designed to provide meaningful career exploration, job readiness training, and hands-on work experience for Chicago youth ages 14-15. Participants earn a stipend while gaining practical skills through project-based learning, community service, and simulated work environments necessary for future employment success while fostering personal growth and leadership.
