Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) administers the Aid to the Aged, Blind, and Disabled (AABD) program which provides cash assistance to elderly and disabled residents of Illinois.

Center for Better Aging (CBA) has partnered with St. Bernard Hospital to bring Chicago's South Side access to primary care, urgent care, geriatric-certified ER (GEDA), diagnostics, and pharmacy services, all located on their campus.

Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Chicago offers a nonprofit Chinese language school as well as dance classes intended for seniors.

JenCare Senior Medical Center provides primary health care services to the senior community. Transportation to and from appointments is available by request. Pharmacy services are available on-site.

Specifically designed with aging adults in mind, a wide variety of classes give participants the opportunity to stay physically active, or in some cases, simply overcome fears of exercise and begin a new journey towards being physically active.

The Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC) will be re-opening its site-based wait lists for one-bedroom project-based voucher (PBV) units for seniors age 55 and older at the following locations: Franklin Towers - 9535 W. Franklin Avenue, Franklin Park, IL 60131Henrich House - 1301 Ashland Avenue, Des Plaines, IL 60016All completed applications will be accepted, but only 150 applicants will be placed on the waitlist. A computer-generated lottery system will be used to determine which applicants are selected and the order of applicants on the waiting list. For those selected, applicants who are currently on the HACC's Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program wait list will receive a preference.

Thornton Township provides weekly lawn-cutting service to senior residents between the months of May through October.

Care Coordinators assess seniors' needs and connect them to the services that best fit their needs. The goal is to help seniors age in place, living independently or with caregivers. They work with individuals and families to develop a plan of care help identify appropriate services and review costs.

Oak Park Township Home Delivered Meal Program is more than a nutritious meal program, it's a friendly check-in from a trusted staff member or volunteer who delivers the meal. Meals are provided for individuals aged 60 and older (regardless of income) who have trouble getting around or preparing their own food. Meals include protein, vegetables, 1% milk or 100% juice, whole grain bread, and fruit. Special diets, including vegetarian, pescatarian, lactose-free, mechanical soft, and pureed meals are accommodated.

Booth Manor Senior Residences, in Chicago's West Loop, provides low-income apartments and supportive services for seniors on fixed incomes.

Hispanic Housing Development Corporation offers affordable housing for low-income seniors. These communities provide individuals seeking a safe living environment with additional supportive services, on-site amenities, and socializing opportunities and activities.

Worth Township Senior Services Department offers a variety of activities and services for senior citizens. Some of the events that take place are senior fitness, day trips, bingo, crocheting, foodie clubs, and much more. Groups also meet to play Pinochle, Mexican Train, and Bridge. Call to register or stop by the Senior Room to join.
