What­ev­er the rea­son, youth who come to Ken­neth Young Cen­ter will receive unbi­ased, pro­fes­sion­al help. KYC strives to reduce inter­nal and exter­nal con­flict and help youth cope with dif­fi­cult sit­u­a­tions and transitions.

Elk Grove Township Challenge Program helps children develop social skills and leadership through experiential learning in small groups. They offer groups for ASD children, children who have trouble making friends, girls (Girls Empowerment), bullying prevention, and others. They also offer team building for groups such as boy scouts, girl scouts, sports teams, and church groups.

The Sports & Fitness Academy focuses on improving physical well-being and fostering positive peer and adult relationships. Participants learn conflict resolution skills and leadership development. Each year the program serves students through a variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced sports teams. The teams participate in weekly training and competitive games and run on seasonal schedules.

African American Christian Foundation's Support for Success program provides comprehensive supportive services to program participants designed to assist them in achieving their goals. The program provides needed support to program participants who are transitioning into employment with basic needs, such as transportation, clothing, uniforms, fee payments, work equipment, certification exams, and childcare assistance. The focus of this program is to eliminate potential obstacles hindering participants from starting a job or accomplishing their individual development plan. Supportive services are tailored to each individual's needs. Case managers are available to assess and assist participants in completing application forms and obtaining support. A portion of our general assistance is earmarked for working women with children.Housing and Rental Assistance Service - This service keeps homeless youth off the streets and out of shelters, an efficient alternative to homelessness prevention. Their agency maintains a list of local residents with a room to share with youth as well as transitional housing and independent living options.Rental or mortgage assistance is provided as well as free homeless and foreclosure prevention counseling services. Other services including housing counseling and education services, including pre-purchase, financing, and non-delinquency post-purchase counseling services are also available.

Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital offers no-cost, confidential assessments for children and teens, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If hospitalization is indicated, counselors will guide clients through the entire process. If outpatient care is more appropriate, counselors will provide them with names and contact information for agencies that can provide such care.
