The Cradle's services to expectant parents serve all of Illinois and Indiana, offering free, non-judgmental, and confidential support to people experiencing an unplanned pregnancy or adjusting to life with a newborn. Their experienced counselors provide information, resources, and support to empower people to decide what is best for themselves, their children, and their families. Compassionate counselors help expectant parents and new parents explore all of their options, including adoption, recognizing that everyone's situation is different. In the event that parents choose an adoption plan for their child, their counselor will walk them through the process, including choosing and meeting a family. It doesn't matter how far along you are-it's never too early or too late to reach out. When ready, The Cradle can set up a time for individuals to meet with one of their counselors at a place convenient. Call the 24-hour toll-free number to speak to a Cradle counselor: 800-CRADLE4 (800-272-3534).

BA NIA has designed a prenatal yoga class that begins during the second trimester of pregnancy. Each yoga posture is intended to strengthen and tone those areas of the body that are under stress during pregnancy and labor. The techniques of focused breathing, relaxation, and stretching are used to enhance the birthing experience while not putting too much strain on the joints. This experience offers the mother an opportunity to become in tune with herself and her developing baby. It also provides the expectant co-parent with the opportunity to intentionally bond with mother and baby during this period. Prenatal classes are conducted from the second to the third trimester and modified to fit the mother's needs. Postpartum yoga classes begin when the mother is twelve weeks past her delivery date. Healing is the approach and focus of these classes. The yoga movements taught during this period are those designed to strengthen, tone, and heal the body. Postpartum classes are conducted in eight-week sessions.
