Offers GED classes in English and Spanish. 

Provides financial assistance to senior and disabled individuals with unmet needs. Services could include car repairs, eye glasses, medical equipment, dental care, or help with clothing. Senior Basket Program assists seniors with various items that cannot be acquired with food stamps. Basket varieties include things like cleaning supplies, kitchen items, or personal hygiene supplies. Two Baskets are distributed each year in the Spring and Fall.

Offers section 8 housing vouchers.

Works with income-eligible homeowners to make their homes safer and more energy efficient by eliminating heat loss and air infiltration areas in the home. After the initial assessment, recommendations on home improvements are given to the homeowner and the Weatherization team will coordinate repairs with contractors. Examples of common improvements include sealing cracks, insulating attics, or repairing windows and doors. All improvements are completed at no cost to the homeowner.

Additional priority is given to households with elderly, disabled, and young children.

Offers child care designed to meet the unique needs of military members, such as care provided during non-traditional hours or over the weekends. Various programs are available, such as on-installation child development and school-age centers as well as family child care in-home settings. Also helps with finding child care options.

Offers fee assistance to make community-based care more affordable for families. The Department of Defense establishes annual fee guidelines, so a family’s cost is based on their Total Family Income.

Provides the following services

- Free on-site pregnancy testing.

• On-site limited obstetrical ultrasound services.
• STI/ STD testing.
• Parenting education (HOPE program).
• Support to pregnant woman whose unborn baby has been diagnosed with an adverse or terminal condition and wish to carry to term (Willow Story program).

Offers free educational services to individuals aged 16 and older, including GED/HSE preparation classes, online GED/HSE preparation, reading readiness, job skills, math readiness, healthcare, manufacturing, ESL (English as a Second Language), and transition skills classes. Citizenship education is available to help individuals understand U.S. history, government, and culture, and prepare for the responsibilities of citizenship. Literacy services and tutoring are provided to eligible individuals. Additionally, the program serves as a test site for high school equivalency exams such as the GED, HiSET, and TASC, enabling participants to obtain a high school equivalency certificate.

Transportation for residents age 60 and older to congregate meal sites, medical appointments, grocery shopping, and government offices. Vans are wheelchair accessible.

Provides a demand-response, curb-to-curb, public transportation service. Services are open to both residents and visitors.

Offers GED testing and transcript and certificate retrieval.

Provides birth and death certificates dating from 1985 to present If you were born before 1985, call the office for information. 

Community housing program offering stable housing and essential support services.

Services within this program:

- Individual therapy.

- Group therapy.

- Family therapy.

- Psychiatric services.

- Intensive community-based treatment.

- Crisis services.

- Court services.

Oversees care for adults with serious mental illness. Services include case management, psychiatry, and medication management, as well as outreach for everything from job training to primary healthcare to daily life skills.

Provides a variety of services through the Outreach Department:

• The Bookmobile currently visits 48 stops every three weeks in the city of Bloomington. Check online for schedule.

• Home Delivery Service will bring books to the home for those who live in Bloomington and are unable to come to the library.

• Deposit Collections are delivered on a rotating schedule to nursing homes and childcare centers.

Crisis intervention for run-away, locked-out, homeless, and ungovernable youth. Services include making sure youth gets emergency psychiatric or substance abuse treatment if needed, follow-up care plan for youths reunited with family, and short-term or long-term placements if reunification is not immediately possible.

Offers early childhood programming for children ages 3-5 years. Provides educational experience that fosters holistic development and engages parents in their children's learning journey, both within the classroom and at home.

Helps sort out the complicated puzzle of Medicare, Medicaid, pharmaceutical assistance, and supplemental health insurance. Certified SHAP counselors can guide seniors to health care plans that include their doctor, cover their medications, and are affordable.

Offers assistance in installing a child safety seat, by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.

Offer subsidized housing for older adults and individuals with disabilities. One bedroom unit may be available.
