Provides hot meals delivered around midday to home bound seniors on a general diet. This program serves seniors throughout Sangamon and Menard Counties.

Provides a drive-through food pantry that is open weekly to those in need. Clients are allowed to use the pantry once a month.

Provides children and families who have experienced domestic violence, family violence, or community violence with a comprehensive continuum of care. Provides community education, training, and direct services to children who have been exposed to violence, but are not involved in the formal child welfare system. Services provided include, home visiting, resource and referral, case management, individual and family counseling, play therapy, and other therapeutic services.

Provides temporary financial assistance for pregnant women and families with one or more dependent children.

TANF provides financial assistance to help pay for food, shelter, utilities, and expenses other than medical.

Transitional services are also available to help families become independent, such as GED preparation, vocational training, job retention programs, etc.

Developmental Screening: Early identification of developmental delays, including:

- Communication/Social Skills.

- Movement.

- Self-help skills.

Physical Therapy: Movement, motor development, and body function. Works with children with a wide variety of diagnoses, including:

- Developmental delays.

- Cerebral palsy.

- Down syndrome.

- Spina bifida.

- Torticollis.

- Plagiocephaly.

- Genetic disorders.

- Hypotonia.

- Toe walking.

- Post-surgical rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapy: Increases a child's independence and quality of life while targeting areas including:

- Daily living skills.

- Sensory processing.

- Self-regulation.

- Motor skills.

- Coordination.

Treatment includes an emphasis on educating the caregivers and providing strategies to increase participation in their home and community environments.

Speech Therapy services also available.

Offers individual, family, play, grief, and trauma-informed therapy services.

Provides short-term assistance involving basic necessities and resource help with budgeting. A home visit will be required. Cash is not provided, bills are paid by vouchers or certificates. Program may provide furniture as well as certificates for grocery items not available at food pantries or through the LINK (food stamp) program.

Provides free legal information and court forms so that people who cannot afford a lawyer can resolve their own legal issues and go to court on their own.

Self-help legal resources help people understand and enforce their legal rights and understand how to represent themselves in court, if necessary.

Provides legal resources for a wide range of legal issues, including divorce, child support, restraining orders, criminal records, public benefits, immigration, housing, and much more.

People who wish to apply for free legal aid may be able to get a local legal aid referral or apply online for legal aid help through the website.

Helps homeowners and tenants save their homes through available legal strategies, including foreclosure defenses in court, bankruptcy, income generation, loan modification, and various alternatives to foreclosure.

Helps with subsidized housing (public housing, Section 8 and other rental assistance) evictions, termination of assistance, rent calculations, and admissions issues, evictions from mobile home parks, evictions by private landlords, discrimination and disability accommodation (see Fair Housing Project), foreclosure, property tax, and other homeownership issues, and housing protection for seniors, veterans, and people living with HIV/AIDS.

-- Crisis Center: Crisis stabilization and residential treatment services to persons exhibiting symptoms of acute mental illness or extreme stress reactions and are at risk of hospitalization.

-- Psychiatric Response Team (PRT): Crisis services for individuals of all ages who present in local emergency departments with suspected psychiatric issues. Provides face-to-face crisis assessments in the ER to determine the level of care needed at that time.

Psychiatric Response Team Emergency departments located at Memorial Medical Center, St. John's Hospital, Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, and Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Offers services to help job seekers find and keep employment, services include: career coaching, job search assistance, education assistance, and referrals to community resources.

Provides free and confidential domestic violence victim services for survivors and non-offending dependent children. Off-site/out-of-office services provided include trauma-informed services, counseling/therapy, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, social services and basic needs advocacy/case management, safety planning, 24/7 crisis helplines, and 24/7 crisis intervention at hospitals/law enforcement. Service plans based on services client wants to receive.

Also provides community trainings in a professional setting and in regards to Information about Services.

Telehealth provided to anyone that needs, or wants the service.

Provides congregate meals to seniors in a seven-county region. Peace Meal works to improve the nutritional status of older adults through the provision of meals, nutrition assessment, nutrition education, food safety instruction and information about other community services.

Provides family and leisure recreation services, a wellness center, day camp, sports, swimming, and open space to the community.

Programs offered include:

- Camp Discover day camp.

- Haish Wellness Center.

- Fitness classes.

- Dance classes.

- Dog training classes.

- Karate classes.

- Connective trails and pathways.

- Community events.

- Recreational basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, volleyball, art, horseback riding, swimming, tumbling, music lessons, and soccer._x000D_

Offers to assist with past due rent to those who have dealt with circumstances beyond the household’s control. This program does not assist with mortgages or property taxes. 

Program availability depends on funding availability. Rents must fall within the local rent standards for the household’s size. These programs are funded by a Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)

Offers clothing vouchers to those in need.

- Child Care Assistance Program: Administers the Department of Human Services (DHS) child care program for working parents with children under the age of 13 who income-qualify. Pays for parent's choice of child care, full or part-time, as well as before- and after-school care.

- Child Care Referral Program: Provides referrals to parents in need of child care. Offers a free online child care search.

- Employer Contracted Services: Enhanced referral services as well as presentations and parenting seminars on child care issues.

- Early Childhood Professional Services: Training scholarships, conferences, workshops, and other early childhood professional development opportunities.

- Child Care Provider Recruitment Services: Resources and workshops on opening and operating a child care program available to interested individuals.

Serves children ages 5-14 by matching them with a caring, positive adult role model. The child and mentor meet in the community and spend time doing different activities they both enjoy and/or interact on any video conferencing platform that is not observable by BBBS. The participants commit to meeting for a minimum of 4 hours in 2-4 outings per month for a minimum of 12 months.

Can also work with the various school districts within the 5 county service area if there are children in the district that would like a Big Brother or Sister. 

Offers temporary refuge for lost, stray, or unwanted animals, facilitates adoptions of animals to new owners, and offers a variety of behavior training courses, fear free training, and pet education classes for pet owners. The Foster Program offers animals a temporary home for animals waiting on a forever home.

Free commercial airline tickets to families in need of specialized, distant medical care and/or second opinions.

Flight support is provided to child patients (age 17 and younger) at no cost to the family, as many times as necessary. Flight programs include domestic travel to U.S. treatment facilities, and to train/retrieve a service dog.

Provides endowments and donor services, stewardship, grant making, and community initiatives to organizations within DeKalb county.

Grants are awarded in the areas of arts and culture, community development, environment and animal welfare, education, health and human services, and nonprofit capacity building.
