Provides energy assistance for eligible low income families in which a benefit is paid directly to the utility companies on behalf of eligible households, or directly to renters if the utility costs are included in their rent.

Applications accepted starting October 1-August 15 or until funding is exhausted. October 1 is for older adults (age 60 and older), individuals with a disability, families with children ages 5 and younger, and households that are disconnected from their utilities/energy vendors, have a disconnect date within 7 days, or have less that 25% in their propane tank. November 1 for all other income eligible households can begin to apply.

Some applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. If the homeowner's furnace is not working or is dangerous or emitting carbon monoxide into the household, LIHEAP may be able to provide a furnace repair or replacement. Contact for more information.

Provides outpatient services for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders. Includes counseling services.

Provides treatment facilities that offer a range of drug and alcohol abuse disorder treatment options. Services include detox and residential treatment, as well as individual and group therapy.

Provides information and referral for mental health services for deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf/blind individuals in the state of Illinois.

Residence for non-ambulatory children who are severely and profoundly handicapped.

Provides developmental programs that serve each child's special needs.

Comprehensive nursing and education programs stimulate learning, growth, and self-help skills in addition to providing innovated care for complex medical needs and profound disabilities.

Offers to help children in grades 4-12 develop knowledge and skills. Services include learning about citizenship, leadership, cooking, arts and crafts, mechanics and technology, horticulture, agriculture, and other subjects. To teach young people about these subjects, the 4-H program uses the learn-by-doing method of instruction. 

Provides a dog rescue devoted to saving canines in need. Programs include adoption program, foster program, and home to home program, as well as humane investigation (abuse and neglect of dogs). Provides supports and services for families to help their children meet developmental milestones.

Helps homeowners and tenants save their homes through available legal strategies, including foreclosure defenses in court, bankruptcy, income generation, loan modification, and various alternatives to foreclosure.

Helps with:

- Subsidized housing (public housing, Section 8 and other rental assistance) evictions, termination of assistance, rent calculations, and admissions issues.

- Evictions from mobile home parks.

- Evictions by private landlords.

- Discrimination and disability accommodation (see Fair Housing Project).

- Foreclosure, property tax, and other homeownership issues.

- Housing protection for seniors, veterans, and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Offers child care, preschool, before/after school, school days out, and summer programs, as well as Early Head Start.

Provides outpatient behavioral health services to those in need. Services include counseling (both individual and group), therapy, supported employment for individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges, and psychosocial rehabilitation (groups to help people with daily living skills and mental illness recovery).

Provides a free, confidential information and referral hotline for Iowa families. Services include individual and family stress counseling, peer counseling facilitated by individuals with shared experiences, assistance with personal and small business financial problems, legal education, support for basic needs such as food, fuel, shelter, and medical help, and disaster-related information.

Provides various employment services to individuals with disabilities. Employment services include:

- Career counseling.

- Resume and cover letter development.

- Assistance with finding job leads.

- Interview practice.

- Assistance with securing public or private transportation.

- Job coaching.

- Assistance with identifying possible job accommodations.

Offers to assist a relative caregiver who wants to obtain guardianship through probate court of a relative's child living in the home of the caregiver. This includes

- Educating and helping the caregiver negotiate the probate court system.

• Assisting caregivers to obtain required documents.
• Arranging for legal counsel in counties where legal counsel is necessary.

  EFSP caseworkers meet with the relative caregiver monthly until guardianship has been obtained or until other services have been provided. These services can include crisis intervention, applying for benefits, working with local schools for the child's enrollment, and referral to a range of needed services that the caregiver may have to help meet the basic needs of the family.

Offers a state-wide network of resources for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. The site offers consultation, a resource room, new diagnosis orientation for families, social skill programs, play groups, training and technical assistance, and internship opportunities for students. The Resource Room has many books and DVDs that can be checked out but also has many free visual supports for use with people on the Autism Spectrum. TAP may also create customized visual supports such as schedules, social stories, and learning aids.

The curriculum is provided in school settings with approval from school administrators.  Teen Pregnancy Prevention is also provided in DCFS residential centers.

Provides a food pantry to eligible households who may need help with food. Food help is given once per month. USDA commodities may also be distributed through the food pantries.

Offers many different senior services for those in the area served including, Medicare A, B, C, and D information and assistance (SHIP), Medicaid application assistance, Social Security assistance, ACA application assistance, Information and Referral.

Offers residential treatment for individuals with mental health issues, includes 24-hour supervision, medication management, individual and group therapy, and more.

Provides food to individuals and families that present for assistance and who meet the Department of Human Services requirements.

Also available, refrigerated Mobile Food Pantry truck which delivers food to pre-registered individuals and families in rural communities.
