Sinai Community Institute's Community Relations (CR) goal is to promote healthy lifestyles, improve access to health care, and enhance community wellness in Sinai Chicago's service areas. CR serves as a liaison between Sinai's resources and community service agencies, schools, churches, and other stakeholders. The team collaborates with partners, task forces, and community groups that address health disparities while disseminating Sinai's mission, vision, and values and increasing visibility. CR also coordinates with SHS staff to support health fairs and other events that address disease prevention and access to health care. The program also offers informational sessions to educate their partners on SHS programs, services, and resources available to families and individuals with chronic diseases or limited access to services.

SNAP recipients whose food is destroyed due to household misfortunes (fire, flood, tornado) or power outages lasting longer than 4 hours are eligible to receive replacement food. Applicants must complete form IL444-1989 within 10 days of discovering the destroyed food due to a disaster. IDHS verifies the event through a collateral contact, the Red Cross, fire department, utility company, a news article, or a home visit. The replacement cannot exceed the SNAP benefit amount for the fiscal month of the loss, and it's capped at the actual value of the loss, whichever is lower. Approve replacement SNAP within 2 days of the signed Request for Replacement of Destroyed Food, if the SNAP household is entitled.

The Premier Child Care Centers - Hegewisch - East Side Child Development Center offers the "It's Not Too Early" program for infants 16 weeks to 15 months old. This program includes infant Yoga, Tummy Time Class, Spanish/Japanese via audio and visual learning, Crawling to Walking exercise, Eye-Hand Coordination exercises, and Your Baby Can Read. A daily report is provided that documents each child's eating, sleeping, and bathroom activities. Activities include an introduction to the alphabet and numbers.
