Oversees care for adults with serious mental illness. Services include case management, psychiatry, and medication management, as well as outreach for everything from job training to primary healthcare to daily life skills.

Adoption programs:

-- Domestic Identified Adoption: Prospective adoptive families and birth parents connect with each other directly or through an intermediary. LCFS can provide guidance to the prospective adoptive families.

-- Interstate Adoption: LCFS can assist prospective adoptive families in Illinois who identify prospective birth parents in another state. LCFS can also assist prospective adoptive families living outside of Illinois who have located expectant parents living in Illinois who are considering an adoption plan.

-- Adopting Children in Care: LCFS can assist prospective adoptive parents who are interested in adopting youth in care who are waiting for adoptive families.

-- International (Home Study Only) Adoption: LCFS can complete a home study for Illinois prospective adoptive parents who are working with a Hague-accredited placing agency.

Offers food and other essentials for the community.

Assists individuals with disabilities who are currently residing in a nursing home and want to move to their own home. Services include:

- Information on accessible and affordable housing options.

- Financial assistance with the cost of moving back into the community.

- Assistance in locating personal assistants.

- Independent living skills training.

- Information and referrals to community agencies and other support services.

- Information on assistive technology and devices.

- Determining eligibility for DRS Home Services.

- Advocacy.

- Benefits counseling and referral.

- Peer counseling.

Offers multiple community micro-pantry sites in Springfield providing food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to residents with no other access to these supplies.

Scouting programs are designed to be fun while building desirable qualities of character and ethical behavior as well as helping scouts to develop in the areas of citizenship, leadership, and physical/mental fitness.

Scouting provides an environment for learning to try, fail and succeed with positive reinforcement for each type of experience through the use of a reward-based advancement program. Scouting shows adults how to work with their children in a positive and constructive manner through Scout Leader training programs. Career awareness is provided for students through the coeducational Learning for Life and Career Exploring Programs.

Provides the maintenance of official court records, the recording of documents for filing and appeals, and the provision of data and information to various government agencies and the general public. Additionally, the Circuit Clerk’s office is tasked with the collection of fines, fees, costs, and penalties as mandated by state statutes and County Board resolutions, and the subsequent distribution of these funds on a monthly basis to the county, state, municipalities, and townships.

• Offers themed family care packages that are distributed during certain holidays or in times of need.
