Participants attend group treatment sessions for four hours a day, five days a week, allowing participants to return home or to a supportive environment outside of treatment hours. PHP offers a higher level of support and structure than IOP. In addition to the 20 hours a week of group work this program requires, PHP will require participants to set aside additional time for individual therapy, treatment planning sessions, family/support person therapy as recommended, and psychiatric monitoring.
