The Salvation Army Head Start and Early Head Start programs give at-risk children the same chances every child deserves. They provide comprehensive services to low-income children and families, including healthy meals and snacks, assistance with medical and dental care, educational field trips, and support services to the family. Parent involvement is encouraged and children with disabilities are welcomed.

City Colleges of Chicago - Kennedy-King College's Child Development Laboratory School provides early childhood educational services, including Head Start programming and Preschool for All. The program's educational goals include social competency, emergent/early literacy, emergent math and science, health and nutritional awareness, and cultural identity and awareness.
Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. offers Child Development Programs, including Head Start and Early Head Start services for children from birth to age 5, and partnerships with established childcare programs throughout the community.
Little Hands Pre-School provides learning and development programs for young children and toddlers younger than preschool age.
Centers for New Horizons' Early Care & Education (ECE) model provides high-quality childcare services and educational training programs that demonstrate solid capacity to support the healthy development of infants, toddlers, and preschool children. CNH partners with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to offer a Head Start program. Services include Universal Pre-Kindergarten, Preschool for All, Head Start, Preventative Initiatives, and Child Care. CNH also offers a home visiting/case management program for expecting mothers.
Mary Crane Center offers Early Head Start and Head Start programs. Free diapers are also made available to families with children already enrolled at Mary Crane Center or that are participating in their Home-Based programs.
Ascension Child Development Center- Early Head Start home-based program families receive a weekly 90-minute visit from a home-based educator who works with the family and child on activities from the Parents as Teachers curriculum and provides family support and resources as needed. Families are also encouraged to participate in the twice-monthly family events at their center and at locations around the community (libraries, parks, etc.)

Illinois Action for Children offers a safe, high-quality education with qualified teachers and staff at IAFC's Early Learning Programs. They will also have healthy, nutritious meals and access to transportation (some restrictions do apply). Income-eligible children up to five years old are welcome, including children with special needs.
