After 22 is a trailblazing initiative that links Chicagoans with developmental disabilities to educational and career opportunities. Now, young adults with developmental disabilities in Chicago will have access to the resources they need to succeed. After 22 puts the individual's needs and interests at the forefront: whether it's college courses, a job, or community involvement After 22 puts the supports in place for each student to forge their own path. Daley College and Anixter Center are creating customized educational plans focused on communication strategies and self-advocacy.

Postsecondary Opportunities for People With Disabilities
The Clare Woods Academy (CWA) - Alternative public day school for students with learning or developmental disabilities, including those within the autism spectrum. The academy includes primary, intermediate, high school and vocational departments that provide occupational therapy, speech/language and counseling.
ChildBridge Center for Education provides comprehensive educational services and personalized therapies including computer-based instruction and assistive technology devices to children with developmental challenges. Program organized into two groups elementary and high school students.
Day school for children and young adults ages 5 through 21 years who are living with Autism and related developmental disabilities that includes educational and speech, occupational and other therapeutic services.
Offers vocational and recreational activities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Educational and residential programs for children and youth who are Deaf/Blind in the 3 to 21-year-old age group, as well as technical assistance for deaf-blind individuals across Illinois.

Giant Steps' school provides a coordinated program of therapy and academic instruction. Each student's program is structured according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and is designed to build skills in daily living, academics, communication, social interaction and community access. Older students participant in pre-vocational studies and may have the opportunity to earn high school credits. Small-Group Instruction includes social skills training, adaptive physical education, art and pre-vocational studies. Individual sessions include academics, speech therapy, occupational therapy and music therapy.

Esperanza Therapeutic Day School aims to support special education students in Illinois by developing individualized educational programs for students aged 5 through 21.At Esperanza, the interdisciplinary team of special education professionals teaches academic, behavioral, communication, functional daily living, and social-emotional skills in order to support students in reaching their highest level of independence.
