The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy School at St. Coletta's of Illinois is a therapeutic day school located in Tinley Park, Illinois. The school serves students with a variety of disabilities including, but not limited to, intellectually and developmentally delayed students ages 3-22. We are Illinois State Board of Education certified and work with school districts from the south, southwest, and western suburbs. Tuition is paid for by the referring school districts as determined by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Shirley Ryan Abilitylab offers a well-equipped fitness center designed for people of all abilities with a broad selection of fitness services and classes to help people be active and achieve their fitness goals.
Esperanza Therapeutic Day School aims to support special education students in Illinois by developing individualized educational programs for students aged 5 through 21.At Esperanza, the interdisciplinary team of special education professionals teaches academic, behavioral, communication, functional daily living, and social-emotional skills in order to support students in reaching their highest level of independence.
Little City Center for Education provides comprehensive educational services and personalized therapies including computer-based instruction and assistive technology devices to children with developmental challenges. Program organized into two groups elementary and high school students.

The Chicago Lighthouse Children's Development Center (CDC) is a private, non-public, specialized school recognized by the State of Illinois. They serve students across Illinois school districts with a variety of educational needs and disabilities including vision loss, traumatic brain injury, autism, intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities. This therapeutic day school provides one-on-one attention and a high staff-to-child ratio, offering the support needed for students to access the common core curriculum and develop capabilities for increased independence.

Offers free customized one-on-one instruction training for children who have been diagnosed as dyslexic. Services may also include training for teachers or others with a bachelor's degree who wish to tutor children with dyslexia.

Services are provided in a classroom environment and include literacy, math, science, social studies, arts, and technology while supporting social/emotional development.

Provides additional class instruction beyond the regular school year. Duration of the program is 6 weeks and housed in a resident district. Instructional and related services are provided as outline by the child's IEP team.

Offers a at risk preschool program for children with disabilities ages 3-5 who reside in rural Champaign County. Services include screenings assess vision and hearing, speech/language, thinking and reasoning skills, fine and gross motor skills, and other academic readiness skills.

Helps families navigate the special education system through education, advocacy, and legal assistance.

Provides various special education services to students in member districts. Services include operates a life skills classroom, a transition classroom, a self-contained cross categorical classroom, four sections of early childhood education, support and a variety of trainings to teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents in the member districts.

Structured educational environment for children that are not able to function in a traditional setting that utilizes positive behavioral interventions and supports. Classroom model integrates a social worker to assist in promoting emotional and behavioral growth. A point and STEP system is utilized to reward children for positive behavior, track progress, and gauge readiness to re-integrate into the general education setting.

Provides individualized instruction and services to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Disability areas for special education include intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, emotional disability, specific learning disability, autism, hearing impairment including deafness, vision impairment including blindness, deaf or blind, speech-language impairment, traumatic brain injury, other health impairment, orthopedic impairment, and developmental delay.

Provides both practical and social/emotional help to older adults adjusting to vision loss.


Content (online, large print, braille and audio) is available free of charge to anyone with a visual impairment and to those who support them.


Library of learning content ranges from tips and techniques for everyday living with low vision to an extensive range of instruction on assistive technology and braille.

Provides administrative, psychological, social work, and supervisory services. Services include comprehensive social development assessments of children with learning disabilities or behavioral problems and determine the most appropriate educational placement for them. They consult with teachers and parents to assist them in carrying out the individualized programs and will refer to other community agencies when appropriate.

Works with member districts and special education cooperatives to provide specialized services for children with special needs. School districts supply teachers, classrooms, and core educational resources, while NIA offers additional support and related services. This partnership aims to create an inclusive learning environment tailored to each student's needs.
