The Diabetes Prevention and Management Course helps identify risks and symptoms of Diabetes, types of Diabetes, and Diabetes management, monitoring, medications, diet, and treatments for Diabetes. The program is more than routine visits, it's a lifestyle change program. AIHS provides a year-long program of diet, exercise, and education that will be monitored by a specialist.

The program also offers mulitiple ways for patients to track diabetes by using a continuous glucose monitor system which tracks patients glucose levels throughout the day, and can alert patients if levels are too high or low.

The Diabetes Education & Wellness Center offers patients individual and group classes, focusing on topics such as Exercise Guidelines, Eating Right with Diabetes, the ABCs of Diabetes -A1C, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol, and Carbohydrate Counting. Patients will work closely with a registered nurse, who is also a Certified Diabetes Educator, to develop a personalized education and treatment plan.
