OAI provides various employment preparation and job training skills to eligible applicants: search/placement, on the job training, retraining, work experience, interview training, job readiness, resume preparation and prevocational training.

Services

Job Interview Training
Assists persons in learning new skills and work behaviors that will lead to success in training and keeping a job. Also, provide opportunities to develop employment interests.
Employment Development: Provides job readiness classes covering topics such as resume, writing, interviewing techniques, personal finance, time management, completing an employment application, work place survival skills and community involvement. In addition, job seekers who complete a job readiness class are eligible for the Job Placement Program which provides resources and placements for individuals seeking employment.
Workshops that provide adults with labor skills needed to secure and maintain a stable job.
Assists persons in learning new skills and work behaviors that will lead to success in training and keeping a job. Provide opportunities to develop employment interests.
A four week series with a fall and spring semester
Career exploration assistance and assistance with completing school or job applications is available for any individual. Financial assistance available based on income eligibility for advanced training.
Employment Service: Free service to identify skills, counsel on resume preparation.
Provides assistance with resume review and preparation.
Involves intensive work with trained outreach staff, usually in the participant's home. Helps families set life goals, learn better parenting skills, learn job skills, improve education, seek employment, and make positive life choices.
Doors to Success: A Case Manager works with participants in groups or one-on-one to help prepare them for employment by developing skills in the following areas, completing applications, interviewing, dressing appropriately for work and job retention. Participants will also complete job assessments to determine their vocational goals.

3 month program that assists individuals get prepared for employment. Teaches skills such as professionalism, interview techniques, how to dress, and other general job readiness skills. Participants will receive a monthly stipend for participating.

The SkillUP program provides SNAP participants opportunities to gain skills, training, or experience that will improve their ability to attain employment and decrease their dependency on public assistance programs. The intention of the SkillUP program is rapid attachment to work that leads to self-sufficiency for individuals and families. The program offers job search training, education, and supportive services to participants. The SkillUP program provides short-term training in the quickest possible time in order to lead to employment. Training should be completed within one year or less, must align with the participant’s employment plan, and lead to employment and self-sufficiency.
