The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago job readiness program prepares participants with the skills, tools, and techniques to obtain, keep, and excel at a new job. Participants will develop communication, problem-solving, resume-building, interviewing, and soft skills.This program is 12 weeks long and provides a weekly stipend of $200. The group meets in person Monday through Thursday for 2 ½ hours a day. On Fridays, they meet remotely.

Provides employment support services, including: assessment of skills, job readiness assessment, skills building, application, resumes, interviewing skills, life skills training, job development, job coaching on or off the job site, education on benefits information, and job keeping skills and long-term follow along support. Employment coaches work with individuals one-on-one to help determine strengths and weaknesses, address special needs and situation, and meet education and employment goals.
Tutoring for children under age 12 from low income families. Dyslexia tutoring available.

Job readiness training class and work experience training and community service opportunities available. Transportation to job fairs (must meet qualifications; determined upon intake). Computer lab available to fill out applications on line. GED classes and adult dyslexia tutoring also available.

Workshops and classes related to financial education.

Helps parents advocate on behalf of their children with learning disabilities. Right to Educate advocate for students with special needs, including dyslexia.

OAI provides various employment preparation and job training skills to eligible applicants: search/placement, on the job training, retraining, work experience, interview training, job readiness, resume preparation and prevocational training.
Provides support to unemployed individuals in the form of resume assistance, interview practice, networking and internet utilizing volunteers.
Involves intensive work with trained outreach staff, usually in the participant's home. Helps families set life goals, learn better parenting skills, learn job skills, improve education, seek employment, and make positive life choices.

OAI provides various employment preparation and job training skills to eligible applicants: search/placement, on the job training, retraining, work experience, interview training, job readiness, resume preparation and prevocational training.
Assists individuals with disabilities in preparing for part-time or full-time employment.
Employment Development: Provides job readiness classes covering topics such as resume, writing, interviewing techniques, personal finance, time management, completing an employment application, work place survival skills and community involvement. In addition, job seekers who complete a job readiness class are eligible for the Job Placement Program which provides resources and placements for individuals seeking employment.
Assists with job search and developing of job interview skills.
Assists persons in learning new skills and work behaviors that will lead to success in training and keeping a job. Also, provide opportunities to develop employment interests.
C.H.O.I.C.E.S. (Creating Hope through Integrating Character, Education, Skills): A job readiness program combining life skills, job skills, mentoring and support groups to promote wholeness and self-sufficiency.
Better Sister and Brother Growth Network offers employment workshops on a weekly basis for individuals who are over the age of 18 with low or no income. Workshops can help with planning or career and job searches, resume assistance, interview support, as well as online application and basic computer help.

The Salvation Army's Employment Services Program provides workforce and job placement. It serves individuals from various communities throughout Chicago. Eligible Chicago residents aged 18 and over can receive job readiness training, employment counseling, including job referrals and placement, paid on-the-job training to transition into the labor market, and direct placement. Program orientation takes place on the first and second Monday of the month. They are partners with the CTA Second Chance Program, Second Chance Renovations, Amazon, and Eco Direct Laundry & Cleaners.
