Heartland Human Care Services' Vocational English Language Training (VELT) Program offers English language classes, one-on-one and group tutoring, job readiness, digital literacy, and transitions counseling to English language learners, including refugees and immigrants. The program also offers vocational training in areas such as: Hospitality, Food Service, Information Technology, Childcare, Truck Driver Training, and Medical Interpreting. Acknowledging the ever-changing demographics of its participants, curricula are frequently updated to meet current needs.

Supportive services include assistance economically disadvantaged farmworker families while they are working in agriculture and offers employment and training services to assist enrolled farmworkers to acquire new occupational skills that lead to stable jobs.

Serves the cultural, psychological, and socio-economic needs of Ethiopians in Chicago and the surrounding areas. Also supports other African, Asian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European refugee populations who seek assistance services. - Linguistically and culturally sensitive case management and service coordination for immigrants and refugee individuals.

- Know Your Rights workshops on topics of importance to help immigrants and refugee individuals and families learn about resources and information with the goal of strengthening the capacity of the immigrant community.
