Mental health care to children at identified schools in Scott County. Services include individual play therapy, family therapy, and parent child interaction therapy. Therapists collaborate with parents and educators.

Provides a continuing school day curriculum and teaching strategy to give the student academic assistance. A School Connector visits the child's classroom to determine areas of improvement in partnership with the student's teacher.

Provides the following services:

Direct Clinical Services such as Outpatient Therapy: Individual, Family and Group, Psychiatric Evaluation, Medication Management, Psychological Evaluation and Testing, and Child Sexual Abuse Victim Treatment: Individual and Group.

School Based Mental Health and Outreach Services such as Outpatient Therapy at school and other locations, Child Mental Health training for school personnel, Case oriented consultation for school personnel, and Case Management Services like Healthy Start/Empowerment.

Early Childhood Mental Health Services Birth to age 5 such as Information and resources, Classroom observations, Professional training and education workshops, and Mental health assessment and treatment.

Community Services include Parent child skill building groups and Parent Education using Parents as Teachers model.

C.A.R.E Rooms are school-based services provided by BSCO in partner schools within the Bronzeville area. When they establish a partnership with a school, they create a dedicated space within the school and assign 1 to 2 CARE room advocates. These advocates are mental health workers trained in trauma-informed intervention. They have the capacity to provide support to anyone within the school community, including students, teachers, administrators, and parents. Advocates offer individual or group sessions.

LSSI Social Workers and Counselors provide support to students in 58 different Chicago Public Schools. Offers the FOCUS programs that serves children in grades 3 through 8 who are not able to function adequately within the school setting or at home. Cooperative effort of Broadlawns and the Des Moines Independent School District. The program is open to all children and is not limited to Des Moines Public School students.

Offers a drop-out prevention program serving DMPS students and their families (kindergarten-graduation). A case manager connects student and family to support services in the areas of education, health and human services. Students are referred to the program based on the DMPS Early Indicator System, which identifies students who are at risk of dropping out of school due to poor attendance, low achievement, poor or failing grades, and lack of identification to school/behavior.
