Student Voice Committee is a group of youth leaders from neighborhood Schools in Brighton Park and surrounding neighborhoods who are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Youth leaders are trained in violence prevention, educational justice, immigrant rights, and organizing. They meet weekly to help organize the Annual BPNC Youth Summit and to make a change in their community through awareness and Intervention.

Brighton Park Neighborhood Council partners with neighborhood schools leading a Youth Leadership Club for middle schoolers. 450 middle school students attend the youth summit where they attend workshops on bullying prevention, gang violence prevention, domestic violence prevention, etc.

The Prevention staff get to know the youth and collaborate across BUILD to offer academic assistance, sports, STEM, arts enrichment, and more. They provide leadership development to help children stay safe, healthy, and focused on their futures.

Provides youth programming for middle and high school age youth in Central Iowa. The school based programs are currently available in select schools in the Des Moines School District. These are nine-month programs that are focused on volunteer service, leadership development, and giving students skills they need in order to be successful.

Clubs include DREAMERS & Allies, Student Voice Committees, and Youth Leadership Councils.
