Provides books of all types including large print and books on CD. Carrying over 25 magazine titles. Inter-library loan services available. Also for check-out: DVDs, videotapes, overhead projector. Meeting room with TV and VCR, DVD; satellite dish and in-house computers. Copier, FAX service and Internet available. Special programs: e-books and WiFi. Homebound Service--for our patrons who are unable to come to the library on their own due to injury, inclement weather, or age (this service is available to patrons that live within city limits). Offers preschool story hour, teen programs and adult programs.

Meeting Space

Offers a collection of adult, preschool, and school age reading materials and DVDs. Magazines and internet access are also available along with printing and copier access, Individual computer lessons can be arranged at customer convenience. A meeting room is available for use by organizations for use as a study or reading room.

The mobile library has a set of designated stops to serve all of Rock Island, Milan, and Blackhawk Township. The library on wheels includes access to print and electronic materials, as well as WiFi, tablets, and computers.

Provides a mail order public library of audio books and Braille program for individuals who are unable to read standard print.

We also have a digital library with hoopla and ebooks and audiobooks through Libby. We have regular programs for adults and children as well.

Free story times that teach early literacy skills; free programs that teach STEM activities. Free fax service and a free phone for local calls. A fine-free library card is available so kids can checkout books without incurring fines.

WiFi hotspots are available for checkout. WiFi extends to branch parking lots and is available Mon-Sun 24 hours.
