Provides several individualized services in order to deter child abuse. Services provided:

- When first contacted, several members of BACA will ride to the child's house and present the child with a patch, stickers, and a photograph of the child with their new biker family. Two bikers are assigned to the child as their primary contacts.

- If abuse or harassment continues, members will create a presence at the home, being visible at times when the family may be most vulnerable.

- Court appearances are also available. Assigned bikers will appear in order to provide support for the child and reduce fear about testifying against their abuser.

Other services available:

- Providing escorts if the child feels unsafe.

- Riding by the child's home on a regular basis.

- Staying with children if they are alone or frightened.

- On-site support if needed, for the child's reassurance.

Offers pre-employment training and retirement programs designed to meet individual needs. Programs are designed to provide experiences to assist people in developing the necessary skills to make informed choices, and increase their level of independence. 

Provides individuals who receive SNAP benefits and who volunteer an opportunity to gain work experience, earn cash assistance, and become self-sufficient.

Provides dental services to those in need. Services include extractions, restorations, cleanings, full exams, dental health education, and limited urgent care.

Provides connections and resources for families that are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Will work with families to get them to support groups and other resources that can help them through current circumstances.

Offers all DHS offices across the state during open hours for people to use as a warm/cool place to stay.

DCFS has the primary responsibility of protecting children and strengthening families through the investigation and intervention of suspected child abuse or neglect by parents and other caregivers.

DCFS links families with community services to address struggles families are having, offers preventative services to referred families in an attempt to keep family units together to address findings of abuse/neglect, and works with families who have children under the legal custody of DCFS while working to reunify families when possible or provide a permanent home for children.

As part of its duties, DCFS also licenses and monitors all Illinois child welfare agencies, child care agencies, domestic and international adoption providers, and group homes in the state.

Provides food pantry items.

Retail pharmacy located at OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center. Works closely with medical providers to find the most therapeutic and cost-effective prescriptions. Orders medications that typical community pharmacies don’t carry. Offers online prescription refills.

Provides medical care and education services for women. Services include mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams, pap tests and education on self-breast examinations to eligible women. Treatment options are available if screening results in diagnosis. If qualified, women who have already been diagnosed with cancer may receive treatment. 

Provides a wide variety of independent living services for individuals with disabilities with the objective of helping them to function more independently in family and community settings and to secure and maintain appropriate employment. Services may include information and referral services, referrals for attendant care, attendant recruitment and training programs, independent living skills training, assistance in meeting housing and transportation needs, peer counseling, transition from institutions into the community, deflection from institutional placement, transition from youth to adult services, and advice and guidance regarding legal rights and benefits eligibility.

Offers English as a Second Language (ESL) and helps with US citizenship.

Literacy Volunteers helps adults read, write, speak, and understand English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors one to one. Each tutor and student meet for one hour a week at a public location that is convenient for them, such as public libraries. Students can also meet with tutors virtually.

The program is open entry, open exit; adults can enroll at any time and exit at any time.

Offers a multispecialty practice providing diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.

Provides a youth mentoring program for youth, ages 12-17, workshops and activities to explore career opportunities, and job search assistance through Goodwill’s Employment Services Program.

Provides support, resources, and lessons for first time/expecting parents. Clients earn 'credits' that they can use to 'purchase' new infant clothing and items.

Offers to assure the health of McHenry County through surveillance, investigation, prevention, and reporting of infectious diseases.

Offers school bus driver training and refresher courses.

Provides a senior center where seniors can come to share companionship, meals, and recreational activities. Services include congregate and home delivered meals, recreational activities that include a pool and exercise equipment, quilting, painting, bingo, exercise classes, and bowling.

Offers a free and confidential crisis line for veterans. Can also help with local suicide prevention coordinators, who can connect veterans to ongoing counseling and services in their area.

RSVP volunteers serve in a diverse range of nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based groups. Volunteers perform a variety of valuable services such as mentor at-risk youth, organize neighborhood watch programs, teach English to immigrants, and lend their business skills to community groups to provide critical social services.

Other volunteer opportunities are available at Senior Services Associates, including Elgin & South Elgin Neighbor to Neighbor Program, Long-Term Care Volunteer Ombudsman Program, Senior Companion Program, Senior Home Repair Assistance Program, Senior Medicare Patrol Projects, and the Transportation Program.

Provides a state university that offers a range of programs at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels.

Offers a 12-week exercise program for the healthy aging population. The goal is to improve overall health and building confidence to participate in future exercise programs.
