General Assistance Provides temporary financial support to help township residents pay overdue rent and utilities. Also covers the cost of car repairs if the individual is employed. Aid is provided short-term while resident finds employment or waits for disability decision. Emergency Assistance Offers one-time financial aid to help township residents prevent eviction or utility disconnection.

Provides emergency financial assistance to residents who are in need, including: - Rental and utility assistance - Employed clients who have transportation issues Residents can receive assistance up to three times. Each time must be 18 months apart. - First time applicants qualify for up to $400 of assistance - Second time applicants qualify for up to $250 of assistance - Third (and last) time applicants qualify for up to $150 of assistance Applicants are required to participate in a financial session before receiving funds.
Offers one-time financial assistance for rent or mortgage for Lake County residents. Clients may receive up to one month of rental assistance, once per year. Does NOT help with the following circumstances: - Eviction notices - Security deposits - Individuals living in subsidized housing, low-income housing, or with a Section-8 voucher

Provides eligible homeowners with mortgage assistance who have had economic hardship to sustain housing.

Cook County-Veterans Assistance Commission provides financial assistance in the form of loans, vouchers, etc. to help veterans pay their rent or mortgage. To support their housing needs, eligible and qualified veterans can receive up to $1,400 in direct financial assistance to be applied to past-due rental or mortgage payments or as the first month's payment towards a new rental or mortgage. This benefit can only be applied for once every 12 months.

When funds are available, one-time financial assistance is available for emergency situations for medications, housing, food, utilities, etc.
