Provides financial assistance to senior and disabled individuals with unmet needs. Services could include car repairs, eye glasses, medical equipment, dental care, or help with clothing.

Senior Basket Program assists seniors with various items that cannot be acquired with food stamps. Basket varieties include things like cleaning supplies, kitchen items, or personal hygiene supplies. Two Baskets are distributed each year in the Spring and Fall.

The Family Support and Community Engagement (FsACE) provides help with transportation problems, so you can find a job, get to work and school, and access healthcare through vehicle repair assistance and bus and gas cards.

May provide grants for gas, insurance, DMV fees (licensing and registration), vehicle repairs, bus/Uber/Lyft rides, and more, for local transportation only.

This grant program focuses on persons in a temporary transportation crisis, including persons who have lost a job, lost income due to a death of a loved one, experienced high medical bills, experienced a natural disaster, or are starting over due to domestic violence, as well as other possible emergencies.

Those who qualify need a way to show stability moving forward past the temporary assistance provided.

Provides assistance to directly alleviate transportation barriers that prohibit participants from obtaining or retaining employment or job training services. Eligible households will receive assistance with car repair related expenses with the inclusion of towing.

Community Vehicle Checkup offers FREE windshield wiper blade replacements, fluids topped off, battery connector check, light bulb replacement, visual inspection, maintenance related items, and referrals for other services. Car seat safety checks also provided.

Through the Family Support and Community Engagement (FsACE) program eligible Suburban Cook County families gain or keep employment by funding supportive services to remote financial roadblocks related to education, training, documents, payments, clothing, personal items, and transportation. This program assists SNAP recipients and people at risk of losing housing.

One-time, once in a lifetime grant to assist veterans and immediate family members, who are in a financial crisis. Grant coverage for auto repairs. Estimate must be from an auto repair shop that can be identified through a website, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), or a dealership.
Provides financial assistance for car repair and maintenance.

Offers a low-interest, revolving loan for households that need financial assistance for unexpected large expenses such as emergency home repair, vehicle repairs, and/or employment-related expenses. Typical financial assistance is under $2,000. Applicants receiving revolving loan assistance will be required to participate in financial literacy courses in addition to repayment of the loan within an agreed-upon timeframe.

If funding available, may also be able to help with car repair assistance.

Those who qualify will receive a deeply discounted rate on parts and labor at the Chariots4Hope shop. The client will be provided an estimate of repair costs before approval, and clients are responsible for paying for repairs approved.

Open to those facing barriers to employment, housing, transportation, and self-sufficiency. Funds can be given out to help those in need of car repairs, car registration and insurance, rent, utilities, cell phone reactivation/additional minutes, transportation accounts through HIRTA, UpLand, or the purchase of a bike. Other financial needs to maintain employment will be reviewed by a case by case basis.
