Greater Chicago Legal Center's attorneys provide representation to low-income people currently facing evictions as part of the Municipal Advice and Referrals Project.
Rentervention is a free resource for Chicago renters facing housing issues. As renters answer plain-language questions about their problems, the Rentervention chatbot provides information about the best options for resolving them. If the renter's problem can't be resolved, they are connected to the Virtual Clinic, where an attorney has access to the chat history and provides service. They may also be referred to other LCBH programs and resources.

Offers financial aid to help Township residents prevent loss of home, job, or utilities. Funds are available once every two years and provide help to meet basic needs, including: - Preventing eviction or past due rent/mortgage - Preventing utility disconnection - Work-related expense necessary to getting or keeping a job (for example, uniform or licensing fees) - Cost of prescription medication *Amount of assistance determined on a case-by-case basis. *Program does not disburse cash; all funds will be paid directly to vendors.

Immigration Project is a Housing Stability Services Provider through Illinois Housing Development Authority. Offers application assistance to immigrants and limited English proficient individuals with the Court Based Rental Assistance Program.
LCBH attorneys provide eviction defense along with pre-eviction assistance, intervening when a renter's housing stability or safety is threatened by illegal lockouts, utility shutoffs, discrimination, retaliation, or other issues. They also help renters facing issues due to living in a foreclosed building, dealing with condition issues, or seeking to unionize. LCBH social workers work with clients to meet needs related to financial and longer-term housing stability.
